James Herriot Country Tour

For those Herriot fans who are not familiar with the new TV series but love the books and the original 1970’s TV series of All Creatures Great and Small this tour maybe for you.

We can include The World of James Herriot – a museum dedicated to Alf Wight (the real James Herriot’s life) based in the former veterinary surgery in Thirsk or if you choose to stay in Thirsk we can head straight off to the Yorkshire Dales to explore locations from the books and early TV series, visiting locations such as Askrigg which doubled up as Darrowby.

Our tour also includes visiting locations from the life of James Herriot/Alf Wight such as where he proposed to his wife and where he stayed on his honeymoon, as well as getting to drive through the stunning Yorkshire Dales countryside.

We can also combine this tour with locations from the new TV series for a bumper All Creatures Great and Small Day.
