Castle Howard & Helmsley Tour

This tour offers the opportunity to visit the grand stately home of Castle Howard set in stunning grounds nestled in the Howardian Hills – an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty.

We will get chance to explore the grounds and visit the Temple of the Four Winds and the impressive Atlas Fountain. We will also tour the house itself with its many treasures, grand artworks, ancient sculptures and wonderful baroque architecture. The Arts & Crafts decorated Chapel is also a real treat.

After lunch we will drive out past Hovingham to the historic North Yorkshire market town of Helmsley with its Norman castle, market square bustling with independent shops and impressive church.

We can also pay a visit to the wonderful Rievaulx Abbey ruins if time permits.
