Historic York Walking Tour

“The History of York is the History of England” – so said King George VI.

I provide full day and half day historic walking tours of York, exploring the varied 2,000 years of history from the Romans to the modern day.

We will take a short walk on the city walls, visit medieval streets, see a Norman castles, a baroque debtors prison, timber framed buildings, a ruined abbey, a roman tower as well as grand Georgian houses and impressive Victorian architecture.

I am an accredited York Minster guide and include a private tour of this wonderful building – the largest and most impressive Gothic cathedral in Northern Europe with 60% of all of England’s medieval stained glass.
