All Creatures Great & Small Tour

With the popularity of the new remake of James Herriot’s All Creatures Great and Small, let me take you on a private driver guided tour of many of the locations from the TV series.

We will visit Grassington which features in the series as Darrowby, exploring the Yorkshire Dales market town as well as taking in the Drovers Arms and Skeldale House. We will take a walk around the village and explore some of the other locations around the town.

We will also make stops at Helen’s Farm (AKA Heston Grange), the narrow bridge, the old church where James and Helen get married, plus Arncliffe village which also features as Darrowby and see the back of Skeldale House. 

We will travel the narrow dry stone walled lined roads where James drives and also stop at the church where Helen stands up Hugh at the altar. As well as the All Creatures locations I will bring to life the history and heritage of the area and you will get to see the stunning scenery in this beautiful national park at first hand..

Unlike some tours based on the new series which include the World of James Herriot in Thirsk, this tour is un-rushed and prefers to help you immerse yourself in the Yorkshire Dales landscape and new series locations.

As a fan of the show myself, I know many secret locations, the best photo stops and plenty of traditional country pubs where we can take lunch.

This tour is a full day private driver guided tour in a 4×4 vehicle and the cost is £890 for up to 4 passengers (excludes refreshments).

Please note: Whist I can collect guests from York, it is about 75 minutes drive to and from the Dales at both ends of the day.

If you haven’t booked accommodation already, it makes sense to stay closer to the Dales, which allows us to cover more ground and see extra locations during our tour. Even locations such as Harrogate or Ilkley keep the drive times down hence maximising your All Creatures experience.
