Animal and nature lover? Then this is a great day out for you and your family. We’ll visit two locations which will give you a flavour of both the local wildlife in its natural habitat, as well as getting up close to some more exotic species at a wildlife park.
We’ll start the day early at Potteric Carr – one of Yorkshire’s best nature reserves, with a rich variety of wildlife. There are a number of trails through the park and we’ll follow two of them with our special i-Spy leaflet, ticking off the different species as we spot them.
The nature reserve has abundant bird and insect life, being famous for the number of dragonflies. There are several bird hides along the way, which also make great vantage points.
Late morning we will leave and head off to Yorkshire Wildlife park for a real wildlife treat. Here you’ll come face to face with endangered species and interact with species from around the world. The wildlife park is unlike many zoos – with walk through areas and ranger talks to help you get a real understanding of some of the parks exotic creatures.
Sessions such as Leaping Lemurs, Wallaby Walkabout, Lion Tales, Meet the Reptiles and Meerkat Madness will educate and entertain, making this a real day to remember.
Through our special relationship with the park, it may also be possible to arrange VIP experiences with the rangers at an additional cost.
