Nidderdale Llamas is a family run trekking centre in the heart of Nidderdale close to Brimham Rocks. The farm is idyllically positioned and enjoys some fantastic views.
We usually start the day with a visit to the National Trust site of Brimham Rocks. This is a real Yorkshire treasure with weird rock formations where a millstone grit outcrop has been shaped by wind and rain to create strange shaped rocks which have been named according to their shape like The Dancing Bear and The Gorilla!
There are some great walks through the rocks and some wonderful photo opportunities looking down into Nidderdale.
Next we will visit Kiln Farm for our Llama Trekking. Unfortunately yougsters have to be over the age of 7 to come onto the farm. This activity tends to be great fun for families with older children.
Nidderdale Llamas run a 2 hour ‘hands on’ session for 7-13 year olds and their families, including meeting and petting the llamas and alpaca, "speed dating" people to their llama!, taking the llamas out for a walk or trek in the beautiful local countryside.
This really is a fun day out for an older family.
