The country of Yorkshire has been the inspiration for many authors over the years. From the bleak moors, gothic abbeys and rolling dales – the landscape has been responsible for classic literature and poetry.
The classic horror of Dracula was inspired by Bram Stoker’s time in Whitby, Philip Larkin took his inspiration from Hull and the Bronte Sisters used the surrounding moorland as inspiration for Wuthering Heights and other famous novels. And lets not forget James Herriott’s Dales based vet novels.
