Grand Depart & Tour de Yorkshire routes

Yorkshire has recently become the capital of cycling in the UK recently and having hosted the Grand Depart of the Tour de France in 2014 it has really put Yorkshire on the map for cycing enthusiasts.

We now have our annual professional bike race the Tour de Yorkshire each year leaving a lasting legacy from the Tour de France. If you watched the 2 day coverage of the Grand Depart it was almost a 2 day advertisement for the wonders of Yorkshire. Why not let us show you the routes and explain the history and geography of the area - whilst showing you all of Yorkshire's treasures.

Grand Depart Day 1 - Leeds to Harrogate

The day starts in Leeds before heading past Harewood House and into the Yorkshire Dales. You will experience some breath taking scenery, iconic buildings and wild landscapes in what is a fantastic day finishing in Harrogate.

There will be plenty of stops to sample the local hospitality too!

Grand Depart Day 2 - York to Sheffield

Drive Day 2 of the 2014 TDF - starting at York Minster, this is a day of climbing including the iconic ascents of Holme Moss and Cragg Vale.

The route heads through Bronte Country and Pennine Moorland before finishing in the steel city of Sheffield.
