This is a great fun day - where you will be taught butchery skills by a 5th generation Yorkshire master butcher in Malhamdale in the heart of The Dales. The course takes place on a farm where a purpose built butchery unit has been built and numbers are limited to no more than 8.
After a cup of tea and a bacon buttie - the morning will start with a tour of the farm where the animals can be seen in healthy, natural settings. After the tour there will be a session on some basic knife skills as well as learning about the different cuts of meat.
You will learn about curing meat and have the chance to make your own pancetta.
Lunch will be a short drive away at the sister farm with gift shop and cafe - where you will have chance to purchase traditional Yorkshire fayre.
After lunch it back to the butchery with a sausage making masterclass. Having been on the course myself I can vouch that this is great fun. Whilst not everyone will be a natural you will have plenty of help with both choosing your flavours, producing your links and making sure you have plenty to take away with you!
As well as sausages - you will have a goodie bag to take back with you as well as some fantastic memories!
