The recent ITV drama Victoria with Jenna Coleman playing Queen Victoria was almost entirely shot on location in Yorkshire. Throughout the eight part drama serial many Yorkshire based historical properties are featured and made to represent many historical southern landmarks.
Our tour can cover one day or two days, as we visit the locations and explore them in more detail. Overnight accommodation can be arranged if required.
Much of the drama was shot and based at the new Church Fenton Studio between Leeds and Selby. But, with the help of Screen Yorkshire and some imaginative location scouts many of our stately homes took centre stage too.
So where will the tour visit?
Real Yorkshire Tours aims to produce bespoke days out depending on your particular interests. So if you want to see places in a particular order or stay longer at one location – that’s fine – it’s your day!
The locations in the films include some of the jewels in Yorkshire’s crown with Castle Howard standing in for rooms at Kensington Palace, the drive at Bramham doubles for the avenue at Windsor Castle, Newby Hall stands in for the Brooks Club in Mayfair, Beverley Minster is converted into Westminster Abbey and rooms at Temple Newsham, Wentworth Woodhouse and Harewood House feature regularly as do parts of York like St Helen’s Square.
Our one day tour would allow time to visit Castle Howard, Harewood House and Temple Newsham, with our two day option allowing trips to Wentworth woodhouse, Beverley and York.
Our tours are driver guided in a luxury 4x4 vehicle and cost approximately £520 for the day for up to 4 people including entrance fees. Should you have a larger group please call us as we can arrange coach tours and smaller luxury minibuses too.
